Wilbert Gray

Wilbert Gray, a resident of Birmingham, AL departed this life to eternal rest on November 14, 2022. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, November 26 @ 11:00am at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Ensley with burial following at Forest Grove Cemetery.

 Wilbert Cornelius Gray was born January 26, 1939, in Birmingham, Alabama. He was the second child born to the late Albert and Sallie Mae Gray. He went home to be with the Lord on November 14, 2022. He confessed Christ early in life at Holy Family Church in Ensley. Wilbert attended Western Olin High School where he graduated in 1957 and was Vice-President of his class. He worked in Concord Mine until he retired with 30 years. Wilbert was joined in holy matrimony to his loving and caring wife, the late Julia Lacy Gray for 50 plus years. Wilbert was preceded in death by: his wife, Julia Lacy Gray; daughter, Cheryl Gray Talley; brother, Raythelone Gray; sister, Albertine Clifton and a nephew, Morris Ambrose. He leaves to cherish his memories: a son, Edwin (Debra) Gray; sister, Frankie Ambrose; special nephews, Derrick (Thelma) Gray and Eugene (Cernecia) Clifton; granddaughter, Jonaya Talley; grandson, Jarvis Henry; great grandsons, Jordyn Bailey and Rayso Hall and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
