Jimmie Carter, a resident of Birmingham, AL departed this life to eternal rest on November 19, 2022. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 2, 2022 at 2:00pm at Eastside Funeral Home Chapel.

Jimmie James Carter was born on January 27, 1951, to the late Mr. Clifton Carter, Sr. and City Lee Wells Carter in Birmingham, Alabama. He departed this life on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital. Before leaving this life, he professed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Jimmie was a graduated of A. H. Parker High School Class of 1969. He was a very hardworking man. He was employed at Real Estate Condominium Services where he did maintenance work. Also, he drove trucks, did construction work, as well as many other jobs over the years. He retired at the age of 62. On March 17, 2006, he married Josie Carter. Jimmie was a strong and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Preceding him in death is his grandparents, Jim and Willie Mae Wells, father, Clifton Carter, Sr. and mother, City Lee Wells Carter. He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Josie Carter; six daughters, Felicia Molette, Deidre (Anthony) Carter, Katari (Terrance) Carter, Kenyara Pickett, Victoria Broadnax and Jasmine (Anthony) Carter; one son, Soloman Broadnax; one stepson, Willie (Cordella) Terry; three sisters, Lola Brown, Sarah Carter and Janice (Anthony) Hinson; two brothers, James Carter and Clifton, Jr. (Gayle) Carter; fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends.
