Jerry Parham

Jerry Parham, a resident of Birmingham, AL departed this life to eternal rest on March 10th, 2023. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 25th, 2023 at 11:00am at Hayes Chapel Baptist Church with burial at Elmwood Cemetery.

Jerry Parham was born on July 26, 1941, to Julia Ann Newell and Charlie Parham in Greene County, Alabama. He professed his faith in Christ at an early age and continued that relationship throughout his life and lastly as a faithful member at Hayes Chapel Baptist Church. Jerry loved farming and gardening in his spare time and was a pillar of his community. He was employed at Berman Brothers before retiring, after working there for over 50 years. He departed this life on March 10, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 30 years, who he loved dearly, Gloria Parham; his mother, father, sister, Lillie Newell of Chicago, IL; stepfather, Fred Newell; two stepbrothers, Fred Newell, Jr. and Willie Lee Newell, all of Greene County, Alabama. He leaves to cherish his memory seven sisters and four brothers, Marie Huff of Epes AL, Rosa Ray and Atlanta Newell, both of Chicago, IL, Delois (Joe) Amersom of Mt. Hebron, AL, Gussie Lee Parham and Marie Smith, both of Chicago Heights, IL, Rosie Lee Jones of New York, NY, Jessie (Paulette) Newell, David (Debra) Newell, C.L. (Susan) Parham, all of Birmingham, AL and Derrick Newell of Mt. Hebron, AL; one stepsister, Georgia Little of Boligee, AL; one stepbrother, Lewis (Ida) Newell of Chicago, IL and host of nieces, nephews, step children, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, cousins, other relatives and friends.
