Danyanita Horne

Danyanita Horne, a resident of Ellenwood, GA, departed this life to eternal rest on October 30th, 2023. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, November 16th at 2:00pm at Eastside Funeral Home Chapel Woodlawn with burial at Zion Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Danyanita (Donya) Sharmaine (Richardson) Horne was called home to our dear Lord on Monday, October 30, 2023. She was born Saturday, August 5, 1961, to Annie Edwards Richardson and Gaynor Richardson, II of Birmingham, Alabama. She was raised up in the church by her maternal grandparents, Overseer Dan Edwards and Pastor Beatrice Edwards. Her grandparents were very dear to her. Mrs. Horne always spoke of stories of her childhood and how dear her family was to her. Mrs. Horne is survived by her husband, Mr. Adam Horne of 41 years. They met August 1982, in Birmingham, Alabama. Danyanita later moved to Atlanta, Georgia and carried out her life there with Mr. Horne and their daughters. In 1987, Mr. and Mrs. Horne lost their youngest son, Torrey, a day before her birthday. Mrs. Horne experienced more joys than tears, she obtained many achievements and a variety of certifications from holistic health to business. Mrs. Horne is remembered by her love of God and her compassion for others. Mrs. Horne worked in the insurance industry for over 18 years. She loved to travel and loved the Lord. She used her gift of prayer and ministry to touch many lives. She is survived by her eight children, Jasmine Wilson (Mark), Kortyka Horne, Adam C. Horne, Danica Riggins (Natavius), the late Torrey Horne, Briana Horne, Tamara Horne and Alicia Atkinson (Kameron); eighteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, five siblings, Gaynor Richardson, Jr., Stephanie Richardson, Angela Richardson, Patrick Richardson (Tyisha) and Tangela Richardson; aunts and uncles, Ray Dan Edwards, Lawrence (Peggy), Norma Edwards, Sandra Taylor (Gary) and Eunice Washington and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and coworkers.
