Christopher Johnson

Christopher Johnson, a resident of Birmingham, AL departed this life to eternal rest on October 11th, 2023. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, October 21st, 2023 at 11:00am at Eastside Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Oakland Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Christopher Johnson was born August 19, 1963, in Birmingham, Alabama to Willie Lee and Pearl Shelby Johnson. He was educated in the Vestavia Hills School System. Chris moved to Virginia then to Tennessee, where he worked as a spud welder for many years until an unfortunate accident which kept him from doing what he loved. Chris was a very loving person known for having a kind heart. He loved having fun, grilling, listening to music, and feeling good. He departed life on October 12, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Willie Lee and Pearl Shelby Johnson; two brothers, Willie Lee Johnson, Jr. and Anthony Johnson and sister, Marvella C. Johnson. Chris leaves to cherish his memory his life partner (his wife he would say), Dorthy Brown; a daughter, Dominique (Shante) Hendricks; two granddaughters, Kolnacha Brown and Desiree Hendricks; four brothers, Allen Ford, Harris Dwright Johnson, Sr., Kenneth Johnson of Birmingham, AL and Marvin (Clara) Johnson, Sr. of Cincinnati, OH; two sisters, Lenora (Whaymon) White and Gwendolyn Pippens of Birmingham, AL; a special brother-in-law, Whaymon White; sister-in-law, Young Sun Johnson; special nephew, Willie Johnson, III of Virginia; one uncle, Reverend Tommie L. Albright; cousin, Rufus Smith, Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
