Cassandra Crawford, a resident of Birmingham, AL departed this life to eternal rest on January 04, 2023. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 1:00pm at Chief Cornerstone Tabernacle with burial at Oakland Memorial Gardens.

Cassandra D. Crawford was born on August 2, 1966, to her loving parents, JoAnn and the late Robert C. Crawford in Birmingham, Alabama. She received her education from James Madison High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Later, she took a trade at Cosmetology School in Milwaukee as well. San, as she was affectionately known by family and friends, enjoyed doing make-up, cooking, cleaning, and doing hair in her free time. She left a lasting impression on everyone she came in contact with. Whenever San walked into a room, she would always make it memorable. She was known for cracking jokes and being the life of the party. She can be remembered by her favorite sayings, “Baby bye!” and “Huh fool?!” On January 4, 2023, she departed this earthly life. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert C. Crawford; grandmother, Minnie Lewis; grandfather, Lovell Crawford; grandson, Jamarion Swinnie; aunts, Lovell Jackson and Ella Thomas; uncle, Randall Palmer; a special uncle, Tony (Tamara) Crawford; niece, Lisa Crawford and nephew, Cameron Dowell. Cassandra’s candle of life will shine on and radiate forever in the hearts of those who loved and knew her best. Left to cherish her memories are: her loving mother, JoAnn Crawford; grandmother, Nora Crawford; devoted husband, Samuel Dunkins; children, Jamal Crawford, Lakita Swinnie, Keith Swinnie and Jada (DannTuwan) Swinnie; grandchildren, James “Jacquez Swinnie” Johnson, Edward “Jaheim Swinnie” Johnson, and Jessiah Cole; a fur grandbaby, Dynasty; siblings, Roderick Crawford, Tamara (Carlos) Thornton, Stephanie Pugh, Tonya (Walter) Surles, Shannon Grant, Cenora Grant, Crystal Young, Alexis Williams, and Joselyn Echols and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
