Bertha Mae Rush was born February 03, 1944 to the late Annie and Dency Rush She was preceded in death by her children James Lamar Rose Sr and Brenda Diane Rose-Swain; siblings Willie Bell Rush, Rosie Mae Smith, Rosanna Goodwin,Jabo Rush, Willie Perkins, and Dency Rush. Grandchild-Eric Cotton JR. Bertha Mae grew up in Selma, AL and attended Tyler Union High School. She later moved to Birmingham, AL where she resided until her departure. Bertha Mae worked as a house-keeper until her health began to decline. (Special loving caring family Mrs.Becky and Mr. Kirby Sevier- Mrs. Abbie and Mr.Richardson Madison.) Being taught at a early age, Bertha Mae confessed christ and joined Mt. Mariah Baptist Church of Selma, AL. After moving to Birmingham she continued her christian journey at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. Bertha Mae had a beautiful smile and loving personality. She loved her family and loved to tease them. She loved outside and to plant her flowers. Bertha enjoyed BINGO,shopping, cooking and having a good time. She was a great mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, teacher, and a friend.She was a woman where she encourage everyone. Saturday, April 13, 2019 around 6:40 pm God dispatched and angel and call Bertha Mae home. She leaves to cherish two loving children;Loving and caring devoted Daughter Gwendolyn Cotton, Son Morris Rose, Special God Daughter Gloria Richardson, loving daughter Dorothy Lee all of Birmingham, AL. Fifteen loving grandchildren Fred Rush, Jerimon, Lawerance, LaTonya, O'Marria, Fred Nelson, Jazzmine, Justin, Victoria, La'Marria, Darnisha, James Jr., Chrishon, Nyzaria, and Marquirse all of Birmingham, AL. Special Nephews Robert (Diane) Harrison and Willie James (Melodie) Smith both of Birmingham, AL. Twenty-nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
