James Quinney Obituary

The late Brother James Terry Quinney was born to the late Mr. William “Big Jack”  & Mrs. Eartha  Mae Quinney Coleman  on January 26, 1956 in Bessemer,  Alabama.

James Terry Quinney confessed Christ at an early age and was Baptized under the Pastorate of the late Rev. George Johnson. As he approached his high school years James relocated to Harvey, Il and completed his studies there. Upon completion of High School he transition to Flint, Mi where he enlisted in the Army Reserves where he served for several years until his tour was over. He then relocated to back to Birmingham, Al. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Vera Brown on January 26th,  1991 – A union that lasted for over 27 years.  James Terry joined Mt. Hebron Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late J. P. Parnell. 

James Terry was also skilled in driving 18 Wheelers and he decided to utilize his skills by Driving Locally for Adam Brothers where he served for 10 years.  He later decided to enter in the world of retail by becoming employed with Walmart of Birmingham were he worked faithfully, tirelessly, and exemplified a profound since of dedication until his death. 

James Terry was preceded in death by his father William “Big Jack” Quinney and his step-mother Annie Bell Quinney.

On Tuesday Morning July 10th, 2018, at approximately 4 a.m. in Birmingham, Al James yielded to the call of the master.  Cherished and blissful memories shall always cling to the hearts of his beloved family.  He leaves to mourn his passing, his devoted wife Vera Brown-Quinney; Two Sons: Antwan T. Quinney of Flint Mi, Darius Brown of Birmingham, Al;  Two Daughters: Ladraka’ Brown, Ashley Brown of Birmingham, Al; His Mother: Eartha Mae Coleman;  Four Brothers: Larry(Charlene)Davis of Hazel Crest Il, Lou(Lorena)Davis of South Holland, Il, Roderick(Jacqueline)Coleman of Minneapolis Mn, Rev. Raymond(Rosine)McDonald Sr. of Birmingham, Al; Three Sisters: Geneva Davis of Harvey Il, Letitia(Darnell)McCollum of Markham, Il, Truddie(Alexander)Coleman-Marks of Hazel Crest, Il; Two special Nieces: Lakesha Coleman, Latosha Mazel of Hazel Crest, Il; eight Grandchildren, a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and friends.
