While attending the Collegeville Church of Christ Gregory confessed Christ at an early age.  He later joined the Woodland Park Church of Christ under the leadership of Brother J. W. Pitts.

He was preceded in death by his loving grandfather-- who helped guide him into manhood—Mann Hamlet and his loving brother Daylen Hamlet.

Gregory leaves to cherish his memory mother, Fredonia Hamlet, Birmingham, Alabama; nephews, Daylon Hamlet and Christopher Staten both from Birmingham, Alabama, and stepsons: Xavier, Brandon and Eric Andrew all from Birmingham, Alabama.
