Brenda (Gary) Marzette

Brenda was born on December 10, 1953 in Garysburg, North Carolina to the late Willie Gary and Lou Evelyn Gary. She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age while attending church in North Carolina. She and her family later relocated to the Bronx, New York where she met and later married John W. Marzette. John and Brenda moved from the Bronx, New York to Birmingham, Alabama in 1989 and continued to reside to this day. She departed her earthly life early Saturday morning in August 26, 2017 at North Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Birmingham, Alabama.

Brenda is preceded in death by her late father Willie Gary; mother, Lou Evelyn Gary; sisters: Gloria Shropshire, Shelia Gary and Saundra Gary.

She leaves to cherish a loving husband of 45 years, John Marzette; two children: Tarsha (Jeffery, Madison, Jayden) Rudolph of Montgomery, AL, Tyler Marzette of Birmingham, AL; four stepchildren: Elliott ‘Bernard’ Marzette (Tyrell, Chanel, Mariel) of Providence, RI; Synthia (Jeff, Terrance, Willie Mae, Kendarius, Madison, Dennis) all of Birmingham, AL; Helen (Alex, Jerry) Newell of Birmingham, AL; John Marzette, Jr. of Atlanta, GA.  In Addition to raising her children, she raised three of her step grandchildren as her own: Travis Marzette of Bronx, NY; Raymond (Violet, Jakobi) Marzette of Birmingham, AL and  Amanda (Malachai, Ahmir) Marzette of Birmingham, AL. her sisters: Bonit Gary of Petersburg, VA; Sophia Gary of New York, NY; Vanessa Gary of Middleton, NY; brothers: David Gary, Steven Gary and William Gary all of New York, NY; a host of grandchildrem great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
