Mother Geraldine Parks was born to March 29, 1940 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Sam and Catherine Hardaway. She was the fifth of eleven children.She accepted Christ and was baptized in the A.O.H. (Apostolic Overcoming Holiness) body. She was a member of New Castle A.O.H. Church of God; later she moved and served with her late mother Catherine Hardaway to Mountain View A.O.H. Church until it closed in 2004.She then joined Hibernia Street A.O.H. Church of God where Bishop Lornie White is her pastor.Mother Parks graduated from Hooper City High School; retired from Jefferson County Rehabilitation Center as a Certified Nursing Assistant with 30 plus years of service. She was an active member of the Hooper City Senior Center until her passing.She later met and married Buford L. Parks on July 24, 1972, their union blessed them with nine children.Mother Parks was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Parks, five brothers: Willie, Samuel Jr., Josephus Sr., Tommy and Roscoe and three sisters; Pauline, Georgia May and her twin sister, Etheline.She leaves to cherish her memories her loving children: Brenda Hardaway of Suisun, CA; Latonia (David) Spencer; Dina Coleman; Charita (Aram Sr.) Perry; Nyralon (Ellery) Johnson; Buford (Wanda) Parks Jr.;Jermaine Parks all of Birmingham, AL; Steve (Renée) Parks of Hercules, CA; LaTasha (Ken) Tunch of Elk Grove, CA.One brother Owen (Brenda) Hardaway of Detroit, MI and one sister Juanita Givens of Birmingham, AL; a godson Dewayne Brown and goddaughter Shelisa Nichols both of Birmingham, AL and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. They will all miss her beautiful smile, words of encouragement and bible scriptures for whatever you were going through.
