Ervin Kennedy, born in Birmingham, Alabama has always been mesmerized by the funeral industry. His affiliations with the industry began at a very young age, under the leadership of his grandparents Lacey and Evelyn McDonald while they were working with Perryman & Sons Funeral Home. As a young man, Ervin also worked for Sunrise East Funeral Home in Birmingham, Alabama under the leadership of Mr. Ronnie E. Morris as the General Manager. No one ever envisioned Ervin as a funeral home owner but it has always been his dream to own and operate his own funeral home. This dream soon became a reality. On July 12, 2003 founded by C. Ervin and Catrina Kennedy Eastside Funeral Home opened its doors at 5523 1st Avenue North, Birmingham, Alabama and have been dedicated to providing professional services to Birmingham and all surrounding areas. Eastside received its “first-call” on July 13, 2003 just one day after being open. After several years in business C. Ervin and Catrina Kennedy along with their dedicated staff continue to provide professional services to all families served. They give praise and glory to God for His Divine Favor and Intervention. They know that with God “all things are possible”. Eastside Funeral Home remains family owned and operated today and they look forward to God enlarging their territory.
